First, consider whether you are ready to go to the publishing stage yet or if you would like a manuscript assessment.
Also known as a structural edit, this will level up your manuscript with professional advice on changes that might be needed. I show you how to make these alterations as well.

What is a structural edit?
- There are different types of edits, and the one that usually starts the process is the structural edit.
- A structural edit reviews the entire manuscript and concentrates on its organisation and the content included.Â
- I do my structural edits through tracked changes and comments in the manuscript so the author can see exactly which parts, sentences or words I'm referring to.
- A structural edit usually takes me between 12 to 20 hours depending on the length of the book.Â

I'm Amy Warren

When I first started writing, I’d been working as a lawyer for eight years. I took a leap, self-published my books, which led to a traditional publishing deal for all four of them.
