Manuscript assessment
How I can helpÂ
when you've finished writing your book
Many of my clients first come to me when they've finished writing their book
If you've finished writing your book and are unsure what to do next, I can also help you.
Firstly, consider whether you are ready to go to the publishing stage yet or if you would like a manuscript assessment.
Also known as a structural edit, this service will level up your manuscript with professional advice on any changes that might be needed. I show you how to make these changes as well.
It's all about making the next step in elevating your manuscript as easy as possible.
Â

What is a structural edit?
- There are different types of edits, and the one that usually starts the process is the structural edit.
- A structural edit reviews the entire manuscript and concentrates on its organisation and the content included.Â
- I do my structural edits through tracked changes and comments in the manuscript so the author can see exactly which parts, sentences or words I'm referring to.
- A structural edit usually takes me between 12 to 20 hours depending on the length of the book.Â

A few of the areas a structural edit for a nonfiction book can cover:
- The overall structure of your book and how it can help convey your message to readers
- Reorganising chapters, and if more are needed, what these would be or if any need to be cut
- Tone and whether it changes and how it can be shaped to appeal to ideal readersÂ
- Areas of the manuscript that need clarifying or expanding
- Where there is any repetition, and how this can be changed or cut
- The flow between paragraphs and how the points unfold in the chapters and book
- Smoothing out sentences and adjusting grammar where necessary
- How to include your authority as an expert and signpost readers to other aspects of your business

NICE TO MEET YOU
I'm Amy Warren
I believe that with the right advice and guidance, writing a book is a possibility for anyone who has the desire to do it.Â
When I first started writing, I’d been working as a lawyer for eight years. I took a leap, self-published my books, which led to a traditional publishing deal for all four of them.
Since 2020, I’ve ghostwritten two Sunday Times bestsellers and written nine more books. I’ve also coached countless business owners and coaches through writing their own books – bringing them speaking opportunities, PR, higher profile clients and taking their businesses to the next level.
I also have a diploma in coaching. This perfectly complements my mentoring skills and professional knowledge so I can adapt to all styles of writers, including those who are neurodiverse.Â
